Шымкентте дәл осындай атаумен қала күніне орай композитор Шәмші Қалдаяқовтың шығармашылығына арналған концерт өтті. Мерекелік шараны қала әкімі М.Әйтенов, қалалық мәслихаттың хатшысы Б. Нарымбетов, зиялы қауым өкілдері мен қала тұрғындары тамашалады.
Концерт шаһар басшысының жылы лебізімен басталды. Қала әкімі жиылғандарды атаулы мерекемен құттықтап, Шымкент қаласының әлеуметтік-экономикалық, қоғамдық дамуына зор үлес қосқаны үшін «Шымкент қаласының құрметті азаматы» атағын 10 азаматқа табыстады.

Халқымыздың ұлы тұлғасына, қазақ музыкасына көрсетілген құрметпен баршаңызды құттықтап қоюға рұқсат етіңіздер! Халқымыздың бағына туған Шәмші ағамызға арналған концерт аясында, қала күні қарсаңында бүгін біз дәстүр бойынша «Шымкент қаласының құрметті азаматы» мәртебесін салтанатты түрде марапаттағалы отырмыз. 4 жыл бұрынғы тарихи шешім өзінің өміршеңдігін көрсетті. 4 жылда қаламызда тұрғындар саны 12 пайызға, өнеркәсіп өнімінің көлемі 60 пайызға, қала бюджеті 3,9 есеге артты. Барша жетістік тұрғындардың белсенділігі мен қолдауының арқасында болып отыр. Талай жылдар бойы қаншама ұрпақтың терімен тұрғызылған қаламыз жылдан жылға дами берсін. Шәмшінің әуезді әндері әрбір үйдің қуанышында шырқалсын!- деп тілек білдірді М.Әйтенов.
